Four Corners ATV Club is located in Durango CO. which set in the south centeral San Juan National Forest. And at the foot of San Juan Mountain Range which contain 12 ~ 13 thousand foot peaks.There is some of the best riding with in a three hour radious of Durango from above timber line to washes,canyons,sand dunes, wooded trails. And most of these trails are maintaned by club like ours and dedicated members working with USFS and BLM. All club members volenteer hundreds of hours a year to keep these trails open and attending Travel Managment meetings to protect these trails and extend existing loops
Durango was formed by the Denver Rio Grande Railroad in 1880 as a hub for the ore from the mineing towns in the area.
And now the train only hauls passengers from Durango to Silverton and back. The Silverton area has alot of great riding from 9600 feet to well over 13,000 and is advised to go prepared for cool and changing wether and be aware of the effects alltitude sickness the symtoms of alltitude sickness vary from dizziness to sick to the stomic. To help prevent this drink alot water and breath deep and slow and take your time stop frequently when walking or any physical activity.If you feel any symtoms go to a lower alltitude as soon as possible.
